This weekend just passed i got to spend a little time in my workshop, albeit a very untidy workshop at the moment. I’ve knocked down a partition wall to make it bigger, and am now waiting for a friend with bricklaying skills to come around and brick up a doorway that is now not needed, it will also give me more wall space once it’s done. I did try bricking the doorway up myself, but when i saw the look on my other halfs face i thought it best to take it down and leave it to someone who knows what they’re doing.
In recent weeks i’ve also managed to pick up a cheap lathe (£40) from a car boot sale, it’s nothing special but at least i’m now able to start practicing wood turning again, it’s been alot of years since i last did any.
Anyway…like i was saying i did get to spend some time in the workshop, and ended up making a picnic bench from some old pallets i’d picked up. I used a bench that we already have in the garden as a pattern and the following three photos show what i ended up with.
